How about…. ?

cropped-img_1556-800x5331.jpgHow about you took a blanket, chair, stool or cushion (zafu) today,DSCF0769 (633x800)

  sat down

in a stable, comfortable upright position

and breathe in

perfectly and completely aware of breathing in?

then

breathe out

perfectly and completely aware of breathing out

How about

you continue this

for maybe 3-5-10 times, just as you like?

Possibly you do not even want to stop so soon

How about realizing all those thoughts running through your head                                                                       DSCF0770 (600x800)

just like a little paper boat Floating by on a river,

wearing little flags which just “lable” your thoughts in

“past” or “future” …

and then go back

breathing in knowing you’re breathing in

breathing out knowing you are breathing out

How does this feel for you?

What happens inside?

Yes, there will be thoughts.

Possibly: tons of

Possibly hurtful or angry ones

Just picture this little paper boat floating down a little wild Creek                                                                                      DSCF0789 (600x800)

having those little flags attached where you can put your thoughts

without giving them a closer look

You might, like in this photo of this mountain hike

not know what comes next

Another angry Memory? Another sad note?

Or maybe a happy one? Or maybe the raisins in your breakfast and the laundry to make?

Very likely.

Every time you catch yourself getting caught

in past, future, planning, analyzing, attachment, resistance

be kind to yourself

and kindly return to

breathing in knowing you are breathing in

breathing out knowing you are breathing out                                                                                                                              DSCF0914 (800x600)

How does it feel in your body?

There is a good Chance

that your mind become still                                                                                                                         DSCF0910 (600x800)

that your thougths stop coming

that you feel peaceful

that you feel connected without having to think the word “connected”

that you are able to have a very deep look – like into very clear water

which lets you look down to the ground

I love to do all this

every morning

many afternoons

almost every evening

How about you?

What is Meditation to you and how do you practice?
