Why getting up early on Saturdays is a treat

Today is Saturday. And…this is market day in my neighbourhood. Raise your hands if you love farmer’s markets as well. The one I am going to is rather small but very colourful and very, very cosy. What it makes cosy?

Well, the Café in the middle of it. There’s a guy, in my eyes he’s a Genius, :), who came up with the idea of a mobile Café. He calls himself Baristinho and he’s got a beautiful pink coffee market Trailer with a “high Definition” coffee maker, homemade cakes, tartes (goat cheese&rucola for example) and freshly made bagels. And it gets even better:

You can sit down on benches at small tables in the very middle of the whole market and have your coffee(-speciality), enjoy the many smells and sights of fruit, flowers, vegetables, people mingle at your table. It’s totally worth getting up early and handpick your favourite spot at the Baristinho-wagon 🙂

To give you and Impression of what I am talking about:

moods 🙂

And to poetically leave you with those thoughts of mine… 😉 …let me Close with a(nother) wonderful poem by Mary Oliver:

Why I Wake Early

Hello, sun in my face.

Hello, you who made the morning

and spread it over the fields

and into the faces of the tulips

and the nodding morning glories,

and into the windows of, even, the

miserable and the crotchety –

best preacher that ever was,

dear star, that just happens

to be where you are in the universe

to keep us from ever-darkness,

to ease us with warm touching,

to hold us in the great hands of light –

good morning, good morning, good morning.

Watch, now, how I start the day

in happiness, in kindness.

  1. Beautiful post. Love the photos. Thanks for sharing

  2. Farmer’s market’s seem even nicer now that I read this. Almost inspires me to awaken early, almost.

  3. I love this poem . . . so much that I bought the book entitled “why I wake early” because of it 🙂
    thank you for the smiles,
