Hello, welcome and thank you very much for stopping by at my blog.

I started blogging because it combines many things I love: photography, writing (in English), connecting with likeminded people, well, duh, so far I could have stolen this phrase from somebody’s blog, eh?

Well, let’s be more specific:

My name is Nic, I live at the dutch and belgian border in Germany and professionally I am a special education teacher,  working at a  private special School for pupils with intensive emotional and social needs. The experiences I have made at work as well as the continued passion I have for my own creativity-habits led to a qualifying Training as art therapist for educational Settings which I will finish in March 2015.

My blog is about mindfulness and Meditation, ways to lead a mindful life and my take on what meditation means to me. It’s not limited to sitting on the zafu watching my breath, taming my vivid mind, although this is an dear and important part of it for 2  1/2 years now.

You’ll also find book Reviews when I have read a book so good that I cannot contain myself 😉 and the occasional recommendation of Events. Or Music Clips.

A big part of my private life, besides the family of friends I care about, is a rather wide range of creativity projects, often photography,  such as long photo walks, sharing the treasures here on the blog with you or taking part in Susannah Conway’s August Break, a free and daily worldwide photography Project for the length of August. Lately I have picked up instant photography as well, be ready for some Posts. My two very photo-experienced elderly bunnies might Show up here, too. They are, after all, not only furry zen masters, charming and precious but also extremely photogenic!

oh, um, I should add, I am a huge fan of lists. Not just for household chores. For living. and gratitude. And lots of other purposes.

Sometimes, rather often, I am really curious about how you see things and how you relate to what I wrote.

Please feel invited to share your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.

As to my photography, I know, clicketyclick and so on, but please note that if you’d like to get a photo from the blog, please ask I am a big fan of sharing but I thank everyone to respect not only mine but everybody’s own works, photos are very personal, and I trust you value this. Thank you.

Best wishes to you, dear readers! – Nic –

You could combine your buddhism with a visit to Canada — e.g. visit Gampo Abbey (gampoabbey.org) in Cape Breton, which is part of the province of Nova Scotia and one of my favourite areas in this whole country.
